Morning Okies,

Yes I slept in or at least for me. No chicken shows or soccer games today!!! I have lots to do around here so I will be busy.

Thanks for the answer P&B, I decided to keep it in with me one day as it just started eating & drinking good. I will put it with it's momma tonight.

You have certainly found the right place to locate chickens within Oklahoma. Some of us have addictions to hatching eggs, attending poultry auctions and otherwise acquireing poultry - and we are always delighted to "assist" others in acquiring poultry by whatever means suits their preference.

Are you looking for chickens that lay a light blue egg (like a true Ameraucana) or hens that lay a green or blue green egg - sometimes called "Easter Eggers" because they lay eggs that are not white or brown - but are sometimes a shade of blue-green, green, or pink - instead of a true light blue outer shell.

I want the true Ameraucana chickens, no bantams, and try to get the ones that only lay blue eggs. I have seen some nice photos of the guy Paul in TX has, I like the built of his roosters. Not the real tall long neck ones, but the short neck thick chest. I would love to find a splash rooster and about 4 hens that has started laying so they know they are laying blue eggs. I am trying to find someone that has been breeding blues not just mixed colors and a few happen to hatch out blue. This is what I get for loving the color that is the hardest to find.

Good Morning Everyone.

Today is Auction Day! I have a big pot of candy for the little ones and the young at heart, so dont forget to come see us today.

We will be moving to the enclosed barn for this sale. Its getting a little cooler and we should move inside for the winter.

Hope everyone enjoys thier weekend. Looks like everyone is getting to sleep in.

Well, its time to get busy. Hope to see you guys here after while.

Morning All,
My Lavender Cochins are starting to hatch!!!!!! I bought 6 eggs from Maryland(5 fertile), 12 eggs from Georgia(9 fertile) and 17 eggs from New York (only 2 fertile!!!!!!

). Now time to see how many from each place hatch. I've got tiny little leg bands to keep track of how they develope. I think it is safe to say, unless their type is terrific, New York is not the flock to rely on.

Update- From Maryland - 1 chick that had to be helped - may not make it.
New York - 1 lavender, 1 pipped - probable won't make it.
Georgia - 5; 3 black split to lavender, 2 lavender.
Not great rates but I'm not disapointed. I didn't expect much, just wanted to get this flock started before spring.
Spent some time with my partridge trio this morning. Think I'm going to keep them. They are such pretty birds. So I need another pen this spring. Bet I'm not the first with this "problem".

Normally we would but we have so much going on, deer hunting with the boys, wrestling season, end of football season, fund raisers, and business planning.
