Goos Morning Everyone,
Hanging Christmas decorations this morning, and going to Blanchard tonignt.
I don't do much decorationg as we aren't much about Christmas around here. Our families don't live here and w don't like the comercialization of the holiday. We don't even usually get a tree.
I do like to do some decoration though, guess it is the Artst in me. I plan a different theme/color every year. This year it is birds.

Glad the theme is "birds" rather than "chickens." It shows you have some "balance" in your life

Good morning all!!! The frost is on the punkins here, it is cold, we froze our tushes off last night at the football game but it was worth it, the Morrison Wildcats won 34-21 and the last half was a tuff one. It is cold here this morning and I really hated to get out of bed but was rudely awakened by a loud thump in the kitchen. It was Heather(5YO) in the fridge getting the tea out for breakfast!!! She dropped the plastic jug in the floor, thankfully it did not break. She had Tea and Poptarts set out for me and her for breakfast!!! How can you be angry with them when they are so sweet and thoughtful???!!!! Well better get off here and do something even if it is wrong as my grandpa used to say!!! Have a great day all, Lynn

Hey everyone,

What a weekend... I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving without any resistance from the turkeys.. ha ha or attacking chickens seeking revenge for all them chicken dinners.

Thanksgiving went alright with us, had a couple come over from our previous church to join us in turkey food and wii bowling fun.
Anyhow Jason and I are still plugging away, Buster has agreed to show us the ropes on processing our turkeys and bringing over his equipment.

Right now we are just chilling and plotting about our place.. Tuesday the hot water line to the washing machine broke and gave the mud room a nice washing... Plumber came out and said the line is corroded so bad there was no way to repair it except to cap it off from where it busted(and hope the cap will stay)... Not to worried about not having hot water to wash clothes since we used cool water anyhow for all the washing.. but today I noticed that the cold water is not running but a moderate speed of dripping into the washing machine... which may mean the cold water line is broke or has a leak somewhere.... this puts us in a small pickle... one of the past home owners put a slab patio in the back.... built the mud room and the extra keeping room on top of the cement slab... guess where that washer line runs... YEP under the cement slab in the ground.... So unless we can figure another way of capping off the line to the water heater(located near the hall way bathroom) and run the line else where and out to the back of the house where the washer is... we gotta come up with the moola to dig up the concrete and replace the lines.... Trying to remain positive... really really really trying.

Twice today, the Magic Poultry Van blew the fuse that has to be intact for the turn signals to work, so I am going to park it in the driveway tonight and just wish I was at Blanchard, rather than driving after dark with no turn signals.

Hope everyone has a good time.

Muesky and I had a good time at the Prague exotic animal auction today. We both resisted the urge to buy a miniature horse or a minature donkey, even though we were each fairly certain we could figure out how to get one home.

There were not very many birds there today - a lot of pigeons, but not as many chickens as we had at Fletcher last weekend. There was a dozen very dark wheaten maran eggs for sale. The buyers went up to $32 and the seller POd them - he wanted $50 for the dozen. I have to admit they were the darkest eggs I have ever seen, but $50 for eggs seemed a bit steep. Wheaten maran hens and Black Copper Maran hens sold for $17 each, but you had to buy all 6 in the cage. Without seeing what color egg they lay, that was too rich for my sense of adventure.

The NN hens I got at Fletcher last weekend have each laid a few eggs and one of them lays a green egg.

I think NNBreeder has corrupted us all on the NN's. I have to say that come spring I will have more in the bantam size.

My weekend has come to an end & tomorrow after church I will start with primmer on the walls. Hopefully I can get the painting done quickly, so everything else can move forward.
