OOOHHH she'll go 350-400 pounds, she is only going on two years old, just barely, this is her second litter and she is a great mom, the piggies are terminal crosses, she was mated to her litter mate brother this time just like her last litter. I have two in a feeding pen from her last litter and man are they nice, had one man interested in the two for breeders, told him it would be fine as long as we don't breed them back to my boar!!!!! I normally don't breed like this but the first time was an accident and they turned out so good and she is such a good mom I decided to keep breeding her the same way, I do line breed but try to stay away from brother-sister matings. Call me when you need some piggies!!! Lynn

No they are Scrogum Spots( my own breeding) they have mostly Spot bred out of a line of Berkshires that came mismarked and A registered Spot. have a tiny bit of Cheaster White and a tiny bit of Duroc in them but probably 7/8 Spot!!!! Lynn

Pigs are so cute when little. The one's that keep sneaking down here aren't so cute! Gonna have to do something about them soon!

Did you guys have a good Christmas? Love the lights on the pens! LOL.

Love my Pigs, they taste great too!!! The light deal was and idea I had because I needed to get enough light out to my pens so the hens would lay better this winter, have a good demand for eating eggs and may try to hatch some of my games out early!!! It is working great!!!! Got it all set up on timers!!!

We are having a great Christmas, how about yall??? Lynn

We have raised pigs in the past & may do it again sometime just more than I can handle right now.

We had a great Christmas, it was great to have all my babies home. I'm still so full that I don't want to move.

Good morning! Couldn't believe there hadn't been any posts in more than 10 hours - that doesn't happen very often. Maybe it is because the temperatures are below freezing. I am getting ready to go out and break ice for my birds and give them some corn to help increase their inner body temperature. I will also add some red pepper flakes to help get them going today. Time to get on the Carhart overalls and jacket and get going. I am just grateful there isn't any ice on the ground - unlike December 26, 2009.

Lynn, those lights are festive! Do you have the timer set to turn on in the morning or evening?

Seeing those spotted [piglets almost makes me almost want one, but the good Lord saw fit to send us a new (big) dog on Christmas eve, so I think we'll settle for what we have.

Hope everyone had a joyful holiday.

Good morning Okies....

Lots of things to do today. First on the list, get the new babies pen outside and get the heat hooked up in it. then Im going to feed scratch. Then it will be time to move all my bantam babies into their new pen.
