You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma. If you have been reading the Okie thread on BYC for awhile, you know that we love to help our fellow Okies acquire additional poultry, find incubators and hatching eggs, and generally we have a good time chatting.

I am going to have to Google "Nankins" to see what they look like. I am not familiar with that breed.

I don't need any more roosters, but I am like you - for no more than roosters tend to bring at Blanchard, I would rather give them away instead of waiting around until after 10 pm to retrieve my cage.

Oklahoma County 4-H main office checks out bator fully stocked. They
all go to schools here in the metro... Thats where Anna Bell found her's.

I immediately thought of the OSU county extension office when I read this request, but since they want to borrow it for essentially the rest of the school year, I didn't know if that would be an option. I get the chicks every year from a kindergarten class that checks out an incubator from the OSU extension center and it seems like they have only a window of about a month when they can get it and keep it, since the incubators are kept in rotation among the schools.

Seen on Facebook where Peaches is takin Doc to the airport! Want to wish them a safe arive in both directions and Doc we will miss you, return safe ASAP!!! Actually, I do have Malays and Silkies and sometimes have Polish, which are all bantam breeds. I just have so many other breeds in large fowl that I don't feel the need to keep miniature versions of my Large Fowl as well. But yeah, bantam NNs would be cool and I do have a couple of bantam roosters that free range with the ducks, guineas, silkies and turkeys as eye candy.

After Googling the Nankin breed, that might be a variety I would enjoy adding. They are really pretty and although they are the source of many other bantam breeds, they themselves are on the "critical" list of conservation. I thought it interesting that they do well brooding their own eggs, but their eggs don't tend to hatch well in an incubator because of their round shape.
