Lol yeah know what you mean! One of mine won't wear hers. The other would wear it all the time! They are funny little dogs. And get as spoiled as kids!Does yours grin? One of ours will if she is really happy to see us after we have been gone. She will roll her upper lip up and show her front teeth. Its halarious!

I will be honest Wayne, I do like the little buggar she is really a cool little dog, and very smart. Although the way my DW spoils her I am afraid that we won't be able to make any trips without taking her along.

Morning Okies,

The weather is beginning to get to me. We've not worked most of the week, and I'm beginning to talk to myself. Been taking chicken pictures for entertainment. Here are some promising 5 month old Silkied Serama. More fun to take pictures than to shovel snow.

LOL I can't believe you said that.............. Tilly does the same exact thing, one leg stuck in the air LOL. And Laura makes me put that silly looking sweater on her, I don't like it, somebody might drive by and see me out there and my reputation will be ruined LOL.

Wow - beautiful, June! I have a silly question: Is the silkie gene in other chickens a mutation like frizzle? Or is is something that has been bred in using silkies? Also, can you breed silkied birds together to get more silkied Seramas, or is that a no-no, like with frizzles where you don't breed them to each other?

Hi City,

That is a good question that I get asked a lot. Silkied is a mutation (actually hookless)just like frizzle is a gene, but unlike frizzle...the idea with silkied IS to breed silkied X silkied...I have some that are six generations nothing but silkied. Hopefully, they will someday be a separate breed from the regular serama....otherwise, they will become a variety of regular serama. We will have a new American Silkied Serama Standard by March to present to ABA. I am on the committee...we have a long way to go, but working hard.

Hi Kathy! Like Poco Pollo and MJgigax said, you are welcome here any time! We were thinking of annexing Southwest Missouri anyway.

I love your Chickens!!!! How big (small) are their eggs?

Hi MJ,

Their eggs are small, as you would expect...but surprisingly large considering how small the chickens are.

CITY....I meant to add there IS NO SILKIE (breed) in Silkied Serama...it is a mutation within Serama.
