Sigh, that map says we are gonna get 8-12 here. My kids are never going back to school!

It is 25 here, feels like 12.

Don't feel lonely, mine have now been out a full 5days. Don't see them going back until Monday.

The new chicks helped with the boredom. I thought my 17 yr old was gonna die when he could not go out with friends and go to tech (he homeschools also). Not looking forward to tomorrow. But we are all stocked up with food. And some crafts to do tomorrow!

Gotta take care of the wild birds in this weather. With out us, so many would die. After the huge snowfall we had, there is nothing out there for them to eat. I've been feeding them and there are more showing up every day. I don't remember seeing so many different kind of birds in one place at one time. To look out the window and see all the colors in the white snow is worth every penny I spend to feed them. So many sizes and colors, from tiny little silver/blue ones on up to a pair of wild mallards, and a lot in between.

I agree, we feed the wild birds too, have for years and this year we have seen so many more and differant varieties. My father lives in the woods in Clayton and he gets a bigger variety then I do here in town. My car is parked near the bird feeding station so I sometimes put the long lens in the camera and a couple of towels covering the car window and stalk the birds like a lone paperatzi while they eat or bathe.

This is gonna be so much fun.

I' m a married mother of two boy 5, girl 10mos. and i've got an empty chick box I thought I was supposed to get some today but it turns out she didn't have what I needed. If anyone knows of a hatcher close to Tulsa or surrounding please let me know i'm soooo excited to get started. I'm looking for Orphingtons(?) or barred rock.I look forward to chatting with all the other Okies!!

Well, I volunteered to take the late shift so a friend who lives even farther out in the country wouldn't have to drive at 9:00 at night. We don't ever close our offices, no matter how bad the weather or how dangerous the conditions. I figure the reason the library never gets to close due to weather is because the president of the union works there.

I will be once again taking my pillows and blankets in case I need to spend the night again.
