Howdy Doo Dee Everyone,

Jason was curious to know if we had a general idea of a poops spring event yet? Of if there were plans for one.. I guess he is nervous about missing it if its either in April or may(he will be in VA for training)..

Anyhow life is quite full here for us and the whole gang of kids... taking advantage of all decent days to work on the property.. never ending it seems.

Jeannie

Who is all attending the auction this weekend?

Ok so I hear you guys talking about chicken poo smelly coops goo and gunk. I spent all morning on my brooder barn that caved in from the weight of the snow. Since I was trying a new method of what i read ""Deep Litter Method"" I got to advise you never to try this at all. 5 Bags of wood chips covered in mold and soggy and smelly like ammonia isnt fun to have to crawl around in. keep in mind were talking about a 30x15 barn with 3 brooders built in it.. Once that mess was done. I had to get on my hands and knees with a paint scrapper and scrap god knows what out of there. I started the project at 9 am and I am finally back to bare floors. Now to soak the whole intire place with Roccal-D Plus and Tempo-SC Plus let that dry a day or 2 add another round of Roccal then when that drys out Got to DE everything and add more hay never using wood chips again.....
Hopefully I can start on the hen house thats equally as bad due to its cave in as well. thank goodness I used straw in there though Pitch Fork scoop and run to the garden and whala Good news is it looks like the brooder will be complete before the chicks leave the bator.

I will be at Fletcher this weekend, so I look forward to seeing everyone.

Mike D. just bought half my goats and all of my turkeys. I was nice and just gave him my roosters.

All I have left are 2 adult goats, 4 babies, 4 roosters (three of whom are headed for freezer camp), and my layers.

Oh, and 10 dogs.

MM, deep litter works great for me when I sequester my layers for the winter. Spring summer and fall they are out on pasture so it isn't necessary then. Makes great compost for the garden.

Guys has anyone heard from Grace lately ?

I was supposed to pick up the three ameraucana roos form her at the idabel show , but now it has been cancelled and i was hoping to be able to make some arrangement for a chicken train , or to be able to drive down and pick them up

Her Dad was on here this morning.
He isn't hard to find, just look for funny characters.
Plus he goes by the name "Grace's Dad"
