So I keep my brooder set up next to the incubator in a spare room, also Alyssa's computer room and all round storage room. Well she complains that it's get's really dusty in there and I worry about excess dust in her new computer. I used to use shavings for the bedding but the water and food bowls need changing several times a day, so I decided to try something new.

I shredded some old Poultry press magazines by hand into fairley small pieces maybe the size of a quarter, I cut and laid down a paper feed sack and put the paper on top of that. It is like the 8 th wonder of the world, I have yet to change water or feed, the chicks are clean and lively, plus they can read and look at old Poultry press event's and show's, so they know how they need to act LOL. Anyway you folks that hatch allot need to try this if you haven't already, I just love it.

my bread machine has a setting for just kneading the dough. my old machine made great bread - so good that I took it to the office so I wouldn't be the only one eating the entire loaf of bread

this machine doesn't make such good bread - don't know if it is a different bread mix or the machine.

I just rip them into long strips then stacked and ripped then into small peices, then I hand crumpled them before putting them in the brooder.
