BRRRRRR...cold and damp mist now.
Checking on some new calves earlier in the evening we saw a herd of 11 deer crossing one of the 40 acre pastures....sure were neat.

There is a sale barn on 5 acres on the corner out of our property that used to be the Meeker Livestock Sale Barn. Some folks have bought it and are trying to start a sale location like a swap meet/garage sale. There have been a couple of attempts on weekends in Jan and February. I'll check out their flyer and see what they will be selling. It's on Hwy 62 between Meeker and Prague.

Not real rain, just a heavy mist and cold, lost some chicks in the brooders from the cold I guess. Got more in the bator, about 120 eggs I think!!! Been working on getting taxes ready to take to the tax man today!!! Hate tis time of year and AI have put it off as long as I can now!!! Need to get to bed, 4am comes early!!! Gnite all!!! Lynn

Jim : Do you remember our conversation last night about the size of the eggs my project meat bird are laying ??. Well this is them and they do this every day, I got some pic's of my F-3's if you want to see um. The egg on the bottom is a extra large.

Those are some turkey size eggs. I would never have thought a "meat project chicken" could lay an egg that large. Are they double yolkers?
