I did get out and ended up in the ditch, luckily I drove out within few minutes!

Quit spending money on chickens and put good tires on that truck!

Why, I plan on selling it in few months anyways.

You think that county would have sanded that intersection by now! As 4 that 4x4, too much work! I'll take that Samuria.

I haven't had a Dr Pepper since 2010 - I gave it up for a month, but since February is my birthday month I decided to let myself have one. Speaking of ice cream, did I tell you I found some snow cone syrup in my pantry? I've been sitting in front of a space heater eating Lime snowcones to pass the time, 'cuz like they always say - when life gives you 24" of snow, make snowcones!

Shouldn't have sold the one you had.

I love to garden. I have sucess mostly with flowers and herbs. Oklahoma soil and weather makes vegetable gardening hard for me. I use good compost, with mini horse manure, but this year I'll have chicken poo to add to it!

5/8th of my garden is going to be a new grow-out pen and 4 breeding pens. I'm thinking about what to put in the remaining area - a few tomatoes, basil, musk mellon (that is what Northerners call cantalope), cucumbers, and.....? Bell peppers go by the north/east side of the house where there is some shelter from full sun part of the day. Maybe I'll put my tomatoes there too.

I used to think that cantelope and muskmelon were the same thing (my mother is from Indiana) but I think there actually is a difference - or maybe I have just seen different varieties of cantelope called muskmelon. The veining on the outside seems to be a little different.

I usually start each Spring with the intention of putting in a garden and sometimes even get one planted (I always buy the tomato and pepper plants - just don't always get them planted) A few years I have put one in about July - the sweet corn made, but not much else.

Gardening talk makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I got a book for Christmas about planting in flats rather than in rows. I have only read the first few pages, but so far I'm convinced that this method of planting will reduce the number of hours required for weeding. Close plantings and some that actually overlap as they grow crowd out weeds. Symbiotic plant pairings is discussed near the middle of the book. I may jump to that chapter tonight to see what grows best together. I want to have carrots, radishes, potatoes, tomatoes, beans, beans, beans, and beans. I'd like to have some fig cuttings from my sister's plant in California. I wonder if they will grow here.

So none of the eggs were good! They did not have anything but egg white and egg yoke. So we wasted 21 days! Oh well. I wish I knew how to candle in the beginning, could have saved us some time lol.

So anyone have any chickies for sale? I know the guy that gave us the eggs would give us more hens and the hens he gave us are great, but he won't let us buy them and he only has 10 left, we don't want to take his good layers. He is too nice. (He did not charge us for his eggs, he just gave them to us.)

So chicks under 2 months old? Anyone? LOL

Poco - you should plant some beans while you're at it!

I also have a book that talks about planting things close together as opposed to in neat rows to help crowd out weeds.
