Ok so the Splash that she has would be called a sport? Why do they have to change things? They are a splash in everyother color varitiy aren't they? I'm a mess tonight.

I could be wrong, but I think of "sport" colors in chickens like a "crop-out" color in horses. Every now and then you get one that doesn't throw what you thought. I think it would still be a splash color, but because it wasn't expected from that genetic pairing, it's called a sport - (or crop-out).

Beth....

The way you explained this is what I have always thought of as a sport.

Should we help her out? Glad you are recovering!!! Tell her we are all thinking about her too!

I keep telling her that if I don't push a little bit hard then my progress will just go flat. For every day I was off of my feet it will take a minimum of a week to get that day back. The doctor said from one year to many or even never on getting the feeling back.

I feel blessed to be able to walk short distances. We had to take off the bathroom door so that I could get in there with a wheelchair. It just lacked an inch with the door on. LOL We re-hung the door the other day.

morning guys! working on my coffee, trying to ignore my ankle that i sprained- i don't do good at having to 'take it easy'- too much needs done!

Well I guess Robin proves what they say about artist, they see beauty in everthing.

yep...i sit there looking at the colors in her feathers- there's black, with greens and a dash of purple- depending on how the light hits it- and then you post that pretty little rat- they make awesome pets- we had one we called reepacheep that would sit on the edge of his cage and catch popcorn!

off to get my second cup and feed critters

Morning Peaches!

Woke up to the sound of chickens in a panic. Discovered a missing broody and lamented. Looked around for her but no luck. So, I went back to bed for a bit, then got up to feed & check waterers.

As it got to be brighter outside, i found the broody back on her nest. I guess the cats scared her off.

Morning All!

As I sit here contemplating brewing up some coffee and all the work I need to get done, just thought I would get caught up with all my BYC friends. Thinking about all our folks that need prayer and wishing the best for everyone.

All,
For the OE Bantam guys anything that is a result of blue breeding that is actually a splash is reffered to as a sport, this is the common term applied to the splash of many blue varieties of OE. Although they are really just a splash if they were any other breed. The OE breeders refer to them as sports.

Thanks Carl, how are you this morning?
