We left Blanchard kind of early tonight. There were quite a few chicks, some blue amercaunas and blue marans.
There weren't as many adult birds tonight, some pretty ones though. Stayed long enough to see Rebecca get a very pretty bantam amercauna hen. I don't what to call the color; black and white, not splash-like, more regular patterning yet not exactly laced?
There is standard blue-grey and brown patterend ameraucana hen and a very nice BLR wyandotte pair that I would have liked to stay long enough to see sell. Also saw a pheasant pair, I forget the breed they are not one of the breeds you are looking for Mary Bethsome blue marans chicks.

I am sorry i missed you tonight. I was wearing a purple tee shirt. I was too busy today to check my PMs! I have more plans for my weekend than time.

I would NOT put new birds in with others. Quarantine them for at least a minimum of two weeks. Most people quarantine for a month. New birds could carry a disease that could spread to your whole flock.

Thanks everyone for your help. I think tomorrow we are going to build like a temporary tractor so they can root around in the grass, but everyone is up for the night. MJ - I was the one that bought the ridiculously priced chickens lol.

Edited to add - that they are up but not together, just the new birds dont have outside access or grass.

So, what kind of hens did you find to be "just what you were looking for" so you were willing to pay a higher than usual price?

what ridiculously priced chickens?

Your going to laugh at how much of a newbie I am...I really wanted the golden lace wyandotte and one of the other gray ones that Im not even for sure what they are...im thinking Cochin, both hens. I paid 32 each, all my other hens I paid 10 - 12 for but they were from a friend

Hey Cayuse more than likely you'll do it again. If you want something bad enough you'll pay for it, obviously someone was bidding against you. I have gone overboard at blanchard before myself its easy.
