We just figured out that DH will be with two of the kids at sporting events that day............he sat for a moment and decided there was NO way he was gonna let me go alone!

He said I would come home not only with chooks....but prolly have a dozen rabbits and a kid or two

So it seems we will all be there together!!!!

Shopping is easier without him...........LOL!

It's his last regular season game and it's in Welch so thats a touch closer...right???.

I plan on winning the ugliest chicken contest!!! I have got it won hands down!!! with a bald frizzle

And I am also working on a costume for her.

I don't know gals I've got some pretty good ones! LOL I had a bald frizzle until a week ago. Well things are moving along slowly but they are moving. anyone one who want to show or be in a contest please pm me and I will send you out a show catalog and entry form. I have seen a lot of interest in the show and stock and I haven't even got my flyers up yet. Morning all just an update things are moving along, we have gotten somemore great donations don't for get to check out the ok chickenstock myspace page to see a list of all the compaines that have made donations to our stock.

Also we are needing volunteers to help with the set up and other things before during and after the stock any and all help would be apperciated. just pm me if you would like to sign on as a volunteer. Thanks again and hope to see everyone at the stock. Maw.

Im gonna try to make it to this. I dont know my way around Poteau but im sure i can find it with my better halfs help. If you enter a chicken in the show do you have to handle it or does it just sit in a cage? Ive never been to one before. Ill be looking to buy some barred rocks and bantams.

It will need to be able to be handle be the judges, if your not sure on how to train it for shwo handling, if you start now with the one that you want to show, by putting it in a smaller cage like what you would see at a show and start working with it on being put in and out of the cage and get it use to being handle, doing this once to twice a day, try jsut messing with its feet when your holding it, stretching out its wings petting its head and body. to this every day for about 3 weeks and you should be set. this is how I train all of mine for show handling. also try feeding it from your hand after about a week or petting it while its eating will also help. Also, lol full of questions, does anyone know the the foliage at the Talimena Scenic highway will be like during Chickenstock? I would like to make that part of the trip out there. I can't wait! My husband doesn't know we are going yet, but it is all part of my evil plan to get him as hooked on chickens as I am!
