Oklahoma Ice Storm

This past January ..parts of Missouri went without power for weeks before it was restored. I feel for the folks in Oklahoma as we have experienced these ice storms quite often in the past twenty years that I have lived down in southwest Missouri. I would rather have snow!! From what the weatherman said tonight, I am going to get my wish this weekend.

I would bet that bucguy is without power but didn't he post that he was getting ready to fire up his generator and that he was prepared for it? I hope he was completely prepared as it does get hairy!! So sorry about your trees. All our hundred year oaks in the yard survived Jan.'s heavy ice storm but we had to cut lots of trees to get out of the driveway. Springfield power company cut lots and lots of tree branches all summer, to a lot of disgruntled customers, but they didn't lose their power because of the tree branches all being cut back from this storm. Great phots Okie!!
I see I mixed up the buc's here, sorry about that buckguy.

but we do like you have alot of companys now ......helping with trees in streets and such, mine will wait until they thaw!

God Bless you Okie, proud of you girl!! It seems that Carthridge (sp), MO was hit pretty bad and Springfield power guys were up there restoring their power. Hope they get back on quickly before this snow storm hits. Will you have a generator for yourself if you lose power? We have new neighbors who don't have a generator and she wasn't sure she needed one. I told her she HAD to get one if she planned on staying here.

We went for years without one and really suffered for it. That is why I can remember all the ice storms we have had here. I have tons of photos I took last Jan. but you know they were of the fields and trees that line the woods...not in town where they were effecting people, you know? Keep us posted as to how you are doing.

Okie, how is the weather over there this morning? Are you in line for this double snow whammy we are due for? It is not suppose to hit here until about midnight and north of us is suppose to get at least a foot of it. Sun is shining here so far.

hey Ozark, weather is overcast.........fog fog fog.......snow tonight and tomorrow about 3 inches expected....30* but we all welcome snow instead of ice....I have to go out and pull ice cover branches off my coop.......snow piling up on it will surely do it in..... hope you all fare well........

Glad to hear you will just get 3 inches. You have had enough for now. I love snow and I am looking forward to it. Sun burned our fog off this morning. It was a freezing fog...weird.

i has been snowing and melting all year. this morning, it might be real snow that sticks. ai. you would not belive my whining this morning.
