Old age or something else?

A mixture of layers pellets and corn
When my roosters used to eat a layer they were often dead by age 4. It always started with lethargy and looking old. I would switch your rooster off of layer ASAP and see if it helps. I recommend a non medicated starter grower or an All Flock ration. My oldest buff Orpington rooster was 4 when I switched and I thought he wouldn't live long but he turned around and is still going at 7. Layer has too much calcium for roosters.

Otherwise others have given you great advice.

Thank you! I have switched him onto growers, put PJ on his legs and put vitamins in his water and will see how he goes! Shall let you all know, thank you all!

Thank you all for your suggestions and help! He seems to be making a slow improvement! Hes actually up and moving more so fingers crossed he keeps improving until he is more himself! In his own lil run so the other cant annoy him and on growers :)
