Old age or?

8 yr old rooster has been losing his balance for at least 6 months. His crow has become weaker and he’ll often fall backwards when he does. Otherwise seems fine. He’s always walked a bit funny (goose stepping) I thought it was from spurs but have trimmed them over the years a few times and didn’t change gait. No obvious injury, no bumble foot that I can see. Did read some of the responses for similar questions nothing fits. His hens are fine. Old age?

I’m not sure, but I use high quality feed and the rest of the flock are fine

At his age he may have cardiac issues.

I would agree, that it may be his age. My rooster had some issues like that with his legs at about 8 before he died. He had some arthritis and stiff legs.

Thank you, I agree that he probably has arthritis, just wasn’t sure chickens could develop arthritis.
