Old and Rare Breeds

We are not a very old country but for us RIR, buckeyes, Plymouth rocks ect. They are OUR heritage birds I really don’t care as much about other country’s breeds I care about the USA bred birds. You are doing a very good thing by keeping them alive here but how many people on here will take RIR over asils?
Every breed NEEDS good breeders you saladin obviously know how to breed your birds but I am going to breed mine differently. You seem to want to save other country’s breeds I want to save ours.

Yes and you can talk about OUR old birds on the Heritage thread. You dont have to be a part of every thread you find. If you dont care about other country's breeds then talk about your "Heritage Breeds" on that thread.

Very well said, and so we probably shall !

geeeze louise!
and thanks so much for the invitation.
But it is refreshing to finally see that you admit there is "our" birds and then there is "the rest of the world's birds"
So much negativity is useless and draining and a waste of time, but thanks for the invite Saladin...goodbye.

Given that my climate here in the pacific northwest resembles that of the British Isles and some parts of northern Europe more than it resembles 90% of the USA, I'm more interested in the birds bred for this kind of climate than I am in birds bred on the eastern seaboard or the mid west. Heat and cold are not an issue for me. Damp is.

Heck, my forebears don't date all that far back in this country anyway.
