Has anyone come across a chicken with pink earlobes? One of my Olive Egger cockrels have developed pink earlobes. Candy heart pink. He is a brown silver duckwing. I will get some pictures tomorrow.

There are likely white earlobes in its ancestry. When Penedesencas don't have a good proper white earlobe, they appear pink.

I have never had those, but love everything I have read about them. Do you run both rose comb and single comb together?

No I only breed the single comb.

You get decently cold and windy in Nebraska, right? Do they do alright in your temps, or do you provide a heated coop?


I very much wanted Nankins, but everyone I talked to said that they would not do well in below freezing temps.

I didn't have a lot of issues, I wrap my coop, and nor did my friend who doesn't wrap hers. The roosters can get frostbite on their combs like any other, just bag balm it.. love my Nankin!
