Oh, and two eggs from that dozen are unmarked.

Thank you for the condolences and compliment! I'll tell the boys you said so! LOL! The one roo has an extremely weak crow and only does it maybe once or twice...and again...only when the dominant one gets really rolling. If he keeps up with the mild crowing, he'll be great outside! No upset neighbors!Ooooh, what variety, do you know?
So sorry you lost your hen!You have two gorgeous young men here!
You can tell by the black chest; that's what the variety was named for. As you can see with your pullet, the girls are more brown on their front. They were cute chicks,

Her name is Chipmunk. Can someone confirm that she is BB Red and can someone tell her age?Ok, so there could be some splash that hatch out, or crossing black and blue would get the splash?Nice!Yes, BBS stands for Blue/Black/Splash with chickens. I wonder if your unmarked ones will end up being the Mottleds, then?
Black and Mottled chick down can be a bit tricky to tell apart, so you might not know for sure until they're feathered out!
Thank you! So cute! They look just like mine!

I hope they’re mottled!

Thanks! So, if I don’t get any splash’s, I could breed blue with blue to make some!It depends on the colors in their breeding pens, and who is breeding whom. If both parents are Blue, about 25% of their offspring will be Splash, along with 25% Black and 50% Blue. Crossing Black to Blue only gets you more Blacks and Blues in about equal amounts.
