I was wondering if anyone has add some old fashion Quaker Oats uncooked to their fermenting food. I have been feeding my girls fermented food for 2 years and they love it. I just thought about throwing in some uncooked oatmeal in with the crumbles and let it do its magic. I've been adding a bit of cracked corn to the mix. Any thoughts on this.

I don't see why not. Rolled oats are just flattened oat grain, right? I think you should be able to toss just about anything into the ferment.

The only consideration would be getting the balance of nutrients out of whack, as in proteins in relation to other vitamins and minerals.

Why not go ask the Queen of Fermented Feed, Bee Kissed? That thread is active and you'd get instant feedback on this idea. It's right here on this forum.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking it would be okay but wanted to check to see if anyone else had done it. Never though about posting it on the active thread for fermented food. Thanks -- I just did that. It's where I learned about fermenting in the first place.
