no it was one of the first eggs in so i got a few more eggs that 1-8 eggs that hatched so far ... heres the little baby

well mine were put in at different days so mine started to peep today well on did then it hatched and the other one made a little peep hole today .. so it depends mine started before they hatched

The mommas might be able to hear before we can, but I've heard the peeps on day 19 before in my bator. I can't hear a thing outside at the coop though.

Bobbie & Stony- thanks! I am on day 17 and I could swear I heard some soft peeping coming from Summers nest. She was on it at the time so there is the possibility it was her but the sounds were so soft and high pitched...

i could tell with mine because every time it pep'ed the hen puff up'ed and squawked at me

Well, she has been puffing at me far more than usual today.

well maybe then but its when ever mine peeped then she did it .. it was funny watching her ... another egg is starting it will be out by morning

Great news!!!
'Tilda is setting for real!
I gave her the original 5 eggs and 2 2-days fresher eggs and let her go to it. Today, she got up to dustbathe and drink water, and immediately, another layer jumped in the nest, and became her "babysitter"!
Fortunately, she threw the sitter out before she could lay an egg, so all was well.
I am so excited I could pop!
