Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

Did she break the skin under the shell? if she didnt i wouldnt take it out because my friend has had one hatch that had a hole in the shell but not the skin part.

The Leghorn still has all of her chicks..8 of them When i moved her..she has two peeping eggs under her too. I thought 8 was enough so I took those two peeping eggs and two other eggs and gave them to a broody Orpington that I have been trying to break. She is the one who squished the chicks. They got out of the eggs and were flat as pancakes under her. I took out the other two eggs and stuck them in the incubator with all the rest of my eggs..one just hatched out now. i might just give it back to the original hen. it is all alone. I check the other egg and it is a dud. my other eggs are not due to hatch till Friday.
