Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

I've been lurking on this thread for a while, hoping to get an answer for this question. It may be here but I haven't read every back page yet!

I have several (7 out of 8) broody Silkies. They are scattered over 3 LF pens. I have day olds arriving in two weeks. They have been sitting for a couple of months now. Do you think they will give up before I can sneak the day olds under them?

is it ok to peut a diffrint chikens egg under a diffrint chicken thats gone broodi?

Hard to say from all I've heard about silkies they don't give up easy, so you may have some still sitting, do you have anything fake under them golf balls, ping pong balls fake eggs?

Not yet, I am nervous to get under her. Last night I did hear one tap back. I am hoping that she might get up at some point and I can run down there and check, but if I dont hear anymore in a few hours I am going to have to move her.
