You're getting it all messed up!
How far down the leg is the cut? Near the toes/foot or higher up?
You know if the lil guy makes it going to be spoiled rotten and no other birds are gonna be good enough.

wow that's a lot of ducklings and trying to keep them still to get an accurate head count well no wonder you missed one, look forward to seeing pics. Thanks for the good thoughts too.Miss Lydia - I am sending good thoughts to your poor injured duckling. I hope he recovers.
stonykill - those ducklings are so cute! congrats!
On my end, the new mom is doing great. I checked on the babies this morning to make sure all 18 were still there, and I counted 19! I re-counted to be sure, and there really are 19 babies. I must have counted wrong the first time. And I am glad no one is missing.
The other mom who adopted the older duckling has also taken up babysitting duties for the youngest ones. When the babies are inside, she will take some of them under her wing. She also looks after them when she is out too. I just hope with her role as adoptive mom and babysitter, she doesn't forget about her own eggs. So far it's still okay...
I will post pictures soon.
