Hope it turns out to be a girl for you. I will say i am done with drakes though, everyone hear that?

I am still wondering if JR is Lilac's baby? she is a grey/white bird... and she did start that nest, dusty just stole it but hard to tell what/if she added on.

Daphne is still sitting and yesterday I caught her out the nest for the first time in several days. It was like she was on drugs or something. Lots of open mouth threatening to me, even though I was out of the run where she usually ignores me. Gobbling food at a foracious rate. Arguing with all the other ducks. They finally just went as far as they could away from her. Everything was done at top speed. It was like watching the roadrunner cartoons. Food to "pond" to waterer, to food to waterer to picking up gravel, to food to water. Zoom Zoom Zoom. Hilarious but different.

Do hens act differently when their eggs are close to hatching? If (big if) my candling is correct her first wave may hatch this week. I want to go "listen" but perhaps I shouldn't when she is so nuts.

I caught two bluejays in the run yesterday..... Nasty if pretty. Babs chased one away but I am concerned they are the egg peckers

They are egg peckers, hopefully your ducks will keep them at bay. and sounds just like my broody ducks but you forgot to mention that awful broody poop. 100 times worse than broody chicken poop. Keep us updated on hatch..

lol, wish I could remember her name. She rarely posts. I'll look it up. Send me a pm so I don't forget. She has other colors but I took the only pair of fawn white runners she had for sale
