Old fashioned Broody Thread for Ducks

My buff drake is a few months old. He was hatched April 2 I think. Anyway I have 2 Pekins and I'm wondering when they'll breed and if Pekins ever really to broody

There have been some on here that have had broody Pekins, it's just a waiting game for sure, make sure to give her a nice quiet place to lay her eggs and you maybe surprised one of these days with a broody duck.

Here are a few pictures of the ducklings in their first day out of the egg. The light one is a silverhead and from Babs and the darker is a blue head from Daphne. All by Peter the silverhead drake
Here the kids are at the opening in their nest box. The light blob is just inside the entrance, the dark blob is outside

so cute. My lil ones are already 5 weeks old, about a foot tall, getting their feathers and colors and at least 2 are trying to quack. They grow up so fast. Enjoy the tiny duckers while you can!

Looks like they are having fun, I am still having to take the eggs from 3 of my girls then run them outside and close the door, Today only 1 of them has been throwing temper tantrums though. And only 1 egg so they are in their rest period now.

That's good! i need to pull dusty's tonight. They seem to be greatly enjoying the water which is great, were awfully hot right now.

Our little one just got into water yesterday for the first time, she enjoys playing in the puddles but she sure did have fun playing in actual water in something. I am hoping when she gets a little older she will be 2 weeks next Monday, that Peggy Sue and Andy will make friends with her and she can play in the water with them. They love each other so much I hope they will let her be apart of their little family.
