Old fashioned Broody Thread for Ducks

I haven't posted in a long time but I thought you would like to see my broody Pekin, Gertie.
She is sitting on 14 eggs. 17 to begin with, but after I candled them, had to throw 3 out.
She has 4 days to go. The middle picture has her fella Slappy, looking on.
Those two are the sweetest and best ducks.

Things are going Great!! moma was trying to flog me this morning when I picked up the black baby, tried to check if it was a boy or girl ..lolol that was a laugh.. couldn't find anything, so I'll just wait a few weeks then we will know what sex they are.. she has them up and eating and going through lots of water .. I am filling the quart jar of water 4x a day plus water for mom and a small pan for them to play in...here is the best pic I could get yesterday...

quite big She is under one of my kitchen windows.

She looks very contented and hopefully very safe from preds since hse is out in the open. Let us know when hatch day comes..

Update: Today went out to the barn and I most definitely heard duckling peeps from under Old Lady! I tried to sort of pick her up but she wasn't on board with my plan whatsoever. In fact she was a tad violent with me. Luckily ducks don't have teeth! LOL OL#2 continues to sit on just one egg. ML you were right, just a slow hatch. YAY! Will post pics once she let's me see what she's got.
