WE HAVE LOTS OF DRY HAY ON THE GROUND IN THE BARN WHERE THEY ARE KEPT IN A PEN

They are not like wild birds that build a nest. You have to give them a place to nest - a nice box quiet and out of the way if they are penned up. If they are free range the females are super extra good at hiding their eggs.
