Old silkie red face???

Hi so my older silkie hen is 5 or 6 years old, (breeder didn't know if she was 1 or 2 when we got her) has been getting red in her brow and wattle, but otherwise is fine, eating drinking and pooping. I don't know when it started because the past few weeks has been rough with a sick, then dying, then dead hen, but she definitely wasn't like this before. This is kind of a shot in the dark cause wattles and faces are usually red on most breeds but im wondering if anybody has experienced this. Thanks guys
