My parents were cleaning out their food storage, and gave us their old wheat. I tries sprouting some, and it did not sprout. It spent this past winter in a shed, and I noticed it has quite a few weevils in it now. The weevils I am sure are great for the birds, but what about the wheat? Once their grown, can I feed my 9 birds a handful a day as scratch in their run? The wheat is probably 25-30 years old. I don't have a grinder, so I would be feeding them the wheat whole.
