I have 4 pullets, 2 are 4 months and the other 2 I'm not sure but they look to be about 2 months give or take. I had them in the coop together for about 30 minutes and the older 2 pecked all the feathers and skin from one of the younger ones head. I cleaned it off with warn water and antiseptic spray and put her in a dog kennel in the house with clean blankets and water. She is resting and her breathing seems ok, but the wound looks so bad, I don't know if I should do anything else for her right now or just let her rest. Her breathing is a bit noisy but not labored. It looks like she may just have some dried blood on her nostrils. Should I try to clean her better or leave her alone? I don't want to traumatize her anymore.

Now she just shook her head a little and a little bubble popped out right behind her left eye. Someone please tell me if there is anything I can do.

It was like a bubble of foam. it's gone now and she is still resting and breathing easily. I have a pic and I will try to post in a minute

There's a thread on here called 'severely scalped young chicken' from a couple days ago. You can probably find good information on it, as her issue is very similar to yours. You will have to type it into the forum search bar, as I don't know how to share a thread link from my phone

I'm the poster of the other thread. She just died an hour a go. I put the rest of the chickens away earlier, found another chicken scalped. I've just checked all the older hens and found one with a bloody beak and chest feathers. She's been judged guilty and will be sold tomorrow. I don't know why this happens. We have a large flock, and this has only happened one other time in 5 years of having chickens.

I'm so sorry for your loss!!
