I love the china, I purchased two sets at The Old Time Pottery,
another set from I believe it was Through The Counrty Door Catalog. I will keep my two sets and when my son marries some day .... he is just 16 .... I will be making a hope chest for him and my future DIL filled with my first china set, a quilt I have made, other household items, as well as pics with stories of my son through out his childhood and a few of his baby items.
Awesome idea. I told a granddaughter who is pregnant now to try to keep a journal starting now for her baby so it will be a keepsake to put into her hope chest someday. Wonderful and thoughtful of you.

Well ... grant it if the future DIL is a sentimental young lady

hmmm, lost my post so I will post it again. LOL My granddaughter is keeping a journal for her soon to be born daughter to put into a hope chest for when the baby is grown. You are very thoughtful to be doing this.

I dont have self rising flour in my cupboard, just enriched white flour is all I have.

No Problem .... How to make all pupose ... self rising ratio:

1 - C. all purpose flour
1 - tsp. baking powder
1/2 - tsp baking soda
1/4 - tsp. salt

That's it. Y'all sould see my cookbooks and binders full of papers, magazine cut outs, lil' sheets tucked into the pockets of the all recipes and substitutions, lil' cards, I even have magnets with tips of measurements and substitutions of items

They come in handy though. I love recipes.

I tried other method and it failed. Now I got the ratio here that sounds pretty good, I am going to go for it. Just one time isn't going to stop me!

I had two cups of flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder...........now I know why!

the original batch was tasteless and too much flour. I might have overworked it as well. I've tried making buscuits before but they either too dry or too tough. Overworking, too much flour or kneading too long may have been the results of my failures. I just have to keep practicing!

Thanks for the heads up, OFH!
