My feed store pays extra for pullets and half or more of the chicks are always cockerels! And the silkies.... Probably almost all of them are roos.
Feed stores in our area are notorious for selling pullets that are actually cockerels. Here is my EE "pullet" from Tractor Supply before I rehomed him.
Obviously NOT a pullet. We also got a silkie that was a cockerel as well. I know that those are a lot harder to sex, but STILL! Mypetchicken claims a 90-95% accuracy rate with professional vent sexers. They won't let me report the mistake until 8-23 at the earliest claiming that an early large and red comb/wattle is not indicative of a cockerel. 
I found a home for him and he will be going on 8-23. I would keep him if I could because I LOVE roosters. Someday we will be in the country and I will have a whole flock of "unwanted" roosters.

This rooster pictured above was from 2 years ago and already went to a new home. ❤ this "guy" I have sent pictures of to mypetchicken and they still won't admit it's a cockerel until the report window starts on 8-23.Can you send them a pic? Agreed! I'm playing the odds game again because I ordered 2 blue/black/splash silkies from mypetchicken. They are both supposed to be pullets. Here's hoping!
They'll be coming on August 23rd, the same day that my rooster report window opens. I'm hoping by ordering 2 I have a higher chance of getting at least one pullet...even though they are both supposed to be pullets.
