Olive Eggers Lineage

My latest group of girlies is 4.5 weeks old now. Two of them are Olive Eggers from Ideal. As you can see in the pic, the two OE's have crests. (The other with that coloring but no crest is the Welbar. The three reds are New Hampshires.)

As itty bittes, they were brown chipmunk. As they are feathering, they have black/gray feathers and a crest. (My previous OE from ideal is my avi. Brown with gold and no crest.)

Just out of curiousity, I am trying to figure out what breed is in the lineage for these two to give them a crest. Any thoughts?

I'd guess they are Welsummer x Crested Cream Legbar crosses.

I have a welsummer and legbar roo cross and she looks almost identical to the the brown leghorn x legbar cross .Only difference is the welsummer cross is a redder shade of brown

The crests definitely come from legbar ancestry. LegbarXwelsummer is one of the two most common hatchery crosses for olive eggers. That's what cross I suspect my olive egger Limu is.

I haven't decided which cockerel to keep from this cross but I plan on replacing my legbar rooster this coming year. They're both darker than him which makes them harder to spot.
