I'm glad to hear Stevie is doing so well. I have a Sizzle that is blind on one side and is actually missing her sinus on that side also. When she breaths hard it goes through her eye socket that is blind. She does well other than that. She lives in the house with us and has her own cage with a nest because she recently started laying. Of course I don't breed her to avoid passing this along to others. But she is the sweetest little hen. She loves to be cuddled and plays with the grandkids. They always go to oher cage to get her out to play.
I also had a quail hatch without an eye and it's beak was crooked. It's head was deformed but it got around just fine. I know the others would have killed it and since I raise them for food anyway, I culled it to avoid it being pecked to death. Saved it a horrible death.
