OMG!! ducklings STINK!

Heehee...you could let them live in the bathtub

You know, give them a little island to sit on and change the tub water every say...ten minutes? Might keep the stink down

I so totally agree with you! We only have 3 little guys/girls? from Ideal that are 2 weeks old. They are all by themselves and STINKY!

I am cleaning up after them twice a day. Trying a puppy pee pad in there tonight. See if it keeps down some of the water damage.

Can't wait til they can go outside. If only our shed was finished....
I have no ideas for keeping the smell down but I feel your pain.

I bet they are pretty stinky..I have 4 chicks in my washroom 3 are 8 weeks old and 1 is about 10 weeks old and WOW do they stink. I cannot explain the smell. They are cleaned everyday and have pine shavings as bedding. I did not know a smell could be so stinky after just 12 hours but they do seem to make an awful smell. I am so happy its some 20 odd days till spring..LOL

I have started using waterbottles and it has helped alot. I bought a waterbottle thing that hooks up to a 2 liter bottle and slip it throw the side of the brooder. Under it is a bowl. They drink the water and if any spills they sip that up too. it's purfect!

What about the milk carton waterer? did someone post that on here? I have to try that because there is no way to describe the EEEEWWWWWWW that 5 ducklings make in a house in winter...blah...and there is more on the way!!!

yep they are very stinky lol

I ended up brooding them (8 runner ducks) in my basement but used a rabit hutch from week 2-5 now they are in the garage awaiting thier new outdoor coop. The hutch had really nice mesh floor that the poo would fall through and be collected on wee wee pads in the tray below. I also used a water bottle with attatched nipple for thier drinking water with daily bath tub trips. The hutch with mesh floor was the only way to keep down the smell. I kept a close eye on thier feet but it did not seem to bother them. They are now on a cement floor with a ton of bedding which i change weekely. My friends say they can smell duck when they come into the house though, I will be glad to get them out.
