Omg help!!!!!!!!!

Hey Bryan! Just looking for an update on your poor little roo. How's he doing now? Hopefully much better. Please keep us posted as we all really do care!

As for the feed store: I really do hope you'll get right in their faces and tell them they sure as H E double toothpicks are responsible! Take a look at your receipt. Does it have a time stamp on it? Most businesses today are on computer inventory control systems tied directly to their cash registers, and as such, the receipt will have a time and date stamp on the top or bottom of it.

With a time stamp on it, it shows just how late in the evening you bought it. Proving it was DARK and who the heck has owl eyes these days!?

They absolutely have a responsibility to sell you the right thing! That's like saying a pharmacy isn't responsible when they incorrectly fill a prescription! Fidiots!!! If you have to Bryan, get in their faces and GET UGLY!! But try nice first. Sometimes you'll get more flies with honey than you will with vinegar!

Wishing you and your little roo the best of luck. Do let us know how he and you are both doing!

. Thanks for everyones help !!!! ~ Bryan

Oh I'm so glad the outcome has been OK but what you had to go through!! As for the feed store not being responsible....YES they are. As an example, a cleaners has a sign on their door that they AREN"T RESPONSIBLE for lost or damaged clothes....according to an attorney....yes they are and that sign doesn't mean diddly! Don't know if it would be worth pursuing and if you aren't out any money, don't know what good it would do but I'd at least let them know that they are responsible and you won't be shopping there again!

I am soooooo glad he is doing better!!!!

As for the feed store, you ought to let them know they ARE responsible, and you need to write a letter indicating all the reasons everyone here has given you for why they are responsible. The buck has to stop somewhere. You ought to explain to them how you will convey their lack of responsible accountability to everyone they keep as a customer, should they fail to at least accept that they have failed to be aware of the product they gave the customer, with very negative consequences should things have gone worse.

Don't do business with them any more if they can't accept the consequences of their actions...jerks.

Hey, Bryan, I'm glad your peeps are doing much better. Sorry I didn't see this until now - there's a vet clinic in Penn Yan that will do chickens. I know that's further away from you than Cornell but you could ask for advice over the phone if there's a next time (hopefully not). Here is their website: http://www.eastviewveterinaryclinic.com/Site/Home.html and they put their phone number on the directions page (instead of someplace obvious like the home page

). They're pretty good, I've taken various critters there including one of my girls who was eggbound last year. $140 and 1 year later she's doing fine.

Take care,
Katie

YAY for them being ok!! Particularly because they all lived, they do need to be pushed on this. Did they even offer a new bag??

Their way of trying to ward off a lawsuit is by saying "we're not responsible", giving what could sound like a plausible reason, and hoping you'll go away. Don't go away. If you do, then they'll neither change their standards, nor help anyone in the future - especially you. Because they'll know they can get away with it.

I'd threaten to have a newspaper out there unless they at least admit culpability for their loader's mistake. Word of mouth, not advertising, is the lifeblood of a feedstore. Let them know about all the stables in the area that feed whole oats that would probably like to know how unconcerned you are about their actions. Have a list of local stables in your hand and read it off.

Then don't push for more than what it owed. You are owed a bag of whole oats and NO more mistakes.

That's horrific,..I get really frustrated at the feed store they are always trying to sell me the absolutely wrong products! Let us know what happens...

Well I talked to the store owner today, and he said that he was soooo sorry and that he would cover any vet bills. The guy is really nice, and the manger was the one that was a d#*k. He said the loader probally grabed the wrong bag, and that he will yell at him. I got a new bag of oats, and free feed for the rest of the year.
