OMG..I accidentally broke egg preparing for lockdown...HELP!

Seriously the wax works ... I have living birds in my yard that can testify for it's use.. ha ha I am crossing my fingers... If you do nothing it will certainly dry out.. It may be too late already...I hope you have kept something wet over it...That may help... Let us know!!

please post photo or describe where on the egg the damage is located. if in line with the "zipping' area i'm saying vaseline or another jelly. if not in area of "zipping," the tape should work if you think it will keep moisture from escaping. you might look into wax option.

Good Luck!

I think is was on the Christmas hatch thingy this month, that a gal put wax on the crack that she caused; even posted a picture of the egg. Later she posted a picture of the healthy chick that hatched from that "wax egg." I'm sold on that idea, that's what I'll do if it happens to me. Good luck.

Thanks for all the suggestions. These babies hatched out on Dec.12th and are all doing great at 3 weeks old. I used Scotch Tape and it worked great!

I was watching one of those chick hatchery videos on you tube and it showed them vaccinating eggs using a needle. So they must be poking holes in them. I didnt see what they did as far as sealing them back up I don't think it showed that part but apparently it is routine and they still hatch. Anyone else see that video and know what they do to seal the eggs? Probably wax or something since it was all done by machines?
