The 4H group around here hatched out about 300 broilers last year. How do I know this? LOL Because the local farmer was telling me how his wife said she was "bring some 4H chicks home" and before he knew it a truck rolled down the driveway with about 300 broiler birds sitting in it. LOL
The farm couple raised them up to a good size and then sold them off for about $5 a bird. He sold out of them too. They were kept past their prime processing age. It didn't stop the local latino population, they would pull up and buy 4-10 of them just like they were at the grocery store.
The couple probably made a little bit of money off of those birds. Just thought I'd throw that in there for anyone close enough to a 4H program doing the same thing. If I had space I would do it! 300 birds for free? Sure! Just throw 'em in the back of the truck.. LOL
I'm sure Adam's face would be similar to the Farmer's when his wife rolled down the driveway with all those chicks.
