She is probably scared, give her some time before you freak out over a peck. Remember you only found her yesterday!

She is in a strange environment with a stranger and no telling how long she has been out fending for herself, which was probably very scarey for her. And there is a good chance that the home she had before may not have handled her and cared for her the way you care for your chickens. Try to get her to warm up to you by giving her treats by hand

I agree with hooligan, give her a chance to get used to her surroundings. And yes, treats by hand! Good luck whatever you do. She's kinda cute. I would bathe her and dust her, she could probably use it.

No, no, no! It takes TIME for animals to learn to trust humans, especially if humans have hurt her in the past! It's her instincts for self-preservation.

It may be a month before she comes around. Don't just abandon her or give her up to someone else. Have patience, okay?

Think about how long it takes for a HUMAN who has been hurt to trust other humans...

Just keep showering her with kindness, and don't force her. Give her treats. Talk to her in a kind voice. Use gardening gloves when offering her things from your hand if you can.

The average quarantine time is at least a couple weeks, so you need to wait at least that long before putting her in with everyone else. I also suggest a warm bath and inspection to make sure she isn't carrying parasites.

The Chicken Lady is right, it will take her time to adjust to her new home, and if she has been abused or been through a frightening situation one her own, it may take weeks for her to just get acclimated to her new home and owners.

Try to help her be happy in her new home and friendly to you but if she isn't responding just let her be, she will adjust on her own, but give her time.

I'm sure others will agree that the last thing she needs is for you to "freak out" on her and be sent to a pet store. Just try to stay calm around her. If you have to vent, wait until you are here, you don't want to scare her more than she already is.
