I am almost exactly the same way!! Just about the only difference is that I can eat the dark meat, as long as none of the meat has touched the bone!! I have a hard time eating it if I cook it, don't know why, just the way I am!! Sorry I can't help, but I know EXACTLY what you are going through!!

I am sorry for your problem, however it could be caused by a chemical imbalance in your system. Since you have had your plumbing removed, I would suggest that you go to your Doctor and have him run some tests. Particularlly paying attention to the Thyroid and Pituitary glands. Also have him check your Potasium level. If any of these are out of whack they can cause a change in the tastes of food, sense of smell, and other things.

There are very few foods that I won't eat, I love oysters, can handle the okra, in fact I can't think of a food that I have tried that I didn't like, except maybe for sheep brains(Greek Food)

I can't handle touching/handleing red meat.

Whe I was pregnant with my son 10 yrs ago. I helped my husband and BIL process 3 deer, so since then I barely handle or eat red meat. The smell does me in.

I also will not eat chicken off the bone.

The veins and stuff just does me in.

it's the same with me and gingerbread! Esp. with the lemon sauce! I OD'd on it in 4th grade and now can't stand it!!!!!

I haven't eaten green bean casserole since.

I have the same problem with a lot of food. Oatmeal, for instance. If I don't make it, and don't think about it or look at it, I can eat it but the minute I look or think about it, I start gagging and retching and away it goes. Part of it is having too good an imagination, and part of it is the texture. When I used to be able to eat meat, same thing.. if I cut the bites too big or had to chew them too much, the texture would get to me and I'd start thinking about just what, exactly, I was eating and I'd start gagging and not be able to swallow or finish.

The only thing I've found that helps is to make sure everything's in small bites and to chew/swallow fairly fast. Before my brain can catch up with anything but 'yum'.

I couldn't touch raw chicken either. Raw steak, no problem. Raw bird? EW EW EW! I started using a bbq tongs so I didn't have to touch it. I still do, when I cook it for other people.
