Omg I just found this rooster. Help!

I went outside and saw this baby by my gate. He has an eye injury and something coming out of his tiny body. I brought him inside. He is eating and drinking. All of our neighbors have chickens and dogs are always killing them. Any idea what this is or how I can help him?

It looks like maybe hes been attacked or hit by a car. under his leg is that a tear in his skin and something sticking through it or is it more of a growth under the skin?

i would get him to an avian vet asap. and till you can make a warm bath of water with epsom salt to soak that injury. it does not look good

That looks like a loop of intestines from his abdomen. He may have been attacked or hit by a car. His eye looks goopy which could be from an injury or a respiratory disease. I would make sure the loop is intestines, and then I would put him down. Do you have animal control in your area who might take him and euthanize him?

Wrap him in a towel and examine him thoroughly. A chicken will not survive an abdominal wound with bowel coming outside.

They might be intestine hanging out. This little man may have survived an animal attack or as mentioned, hit by a car. Honestly, I would put him to sleep.

I think it’s a tear and it’s something sticking out. Seems painful to him when I attempt to touch it to see under the wing.

I had one that survived because I had sutures and sewed her up. but not many people have that laying around. i agree with you if a vet can't help its time to euthanize

as eggcessive said it looks like intestines and will need a vet now. and if the vet can't help have the vet put the chicken down. that is sad. sorry to see it happen
