OMG ! look at what i found! {pic!]UPDATE

Throw in another vote for team coon. BIG coon. When I looked at it thinking it was a coyote, I thought it was a weird looking coyote. Lower jaw is recessed, nose sticks out like a coon.

Icky.

ETA - Looks like it was shot out of the tree.

definitely badger. its not shaped right to be either a coon or coyote.

i would also call animal control to investigate...animals don't usually drop dead like that. not to mention nothing else has eaten it...maybe someone set our poison that it got into

See, originally I liked the badger idea, but the ears look wrong to me (big badger expert that I am...

I agree, after a closer inspection of a picture, I am changing my vote to chupacabra or hyena. or, a coyote, I don't see coon at all.. turn it over and take more pictures. How big is it, what do its legs/feet/hands look like? We must know!

Okay....does anyone have a clue what a badger looks like? They are small vicious creatures. They have distinct striped marks on their heads, small rounded ears, razor sharp teeth and beady little eyes....

This is a badger

This is the paw and the claws on the suckers

In this picture there is a blue fox draped over the futon and XL wolverine (5' + from tip of tail to nose) stretched out on the futon and behind it is the badger stretched out...

That is not a badger nor is it a raccoon but it could very well be a small coyote or a large fox. A fox can easily reach the length of a small coyote. Take a shovel and flip his butt over and let's see the rest of him.

Never seen a coyote with hair that long. Looks like a mutt...
I found a dead raccoon a few weeks ago right next to my trail camera... Weird
Picture449.jpg

Luckily it died the night before so It didn't really smell but I DID wear gloves just incase it was diseased. I have pictures of it eating and acting normal and there were NO bullet wounds, punctures. Just dead as a door knob.

Oh well I'm not complaining, One less coon...

hmmmmmmm, i take it back. you're right. the ears are all wrong. but it doesn't look like a coon or coyote either.
hmm.....could it be a fox? (it doesn't look "fox-ish" though) i vote chupacabra

Well, it "Looks" like a hyena, but I doubt that's what it is

it really does resemble a hyena.........glad its not in my backyard. i would be really creeped out :shivers:
