No I don't want to separate her out at all. I blocked the opening so she and the baby can at least eat in peace.

The brooder box is prety big, at least 4 feet long, by about 2 feet wide or so - the ducks were just being naughty! One I let everyone out for the day - the ducks were GONE - they won't go back.... well until tonight!

But if you block the opening you are separating her even more than if she had a run in the middle of the others. Or are you taking the block down once you let the others out?

I just blocked the hole up for a little while - when I went back it had been knocked over

And mom had another egg in her nest

You will definitely have to keep us posted on #2 Millie mom w/ Guinea eggs.

How are mama & baby doing now that you have a brooder set up?

THey're doing fine, its just really been HOT in the coop - I am looking forward to mom bringing her baby out - I'm guessing in a few days she will.

Baby is SO cute - I will need to get another picture.
Mom brought baby out to free range today and I got a nice look at her.
she's developing a little tail and her wing feathers are coming in - they're a creamy color, not the white I expected - and the one wing that I got a look at has some black in it - she's going to be really pretty wit hsome color to her.

My daughter named her Yellow Feather.

I just hope after the guinea's hatch thats the last of the broody's.

I have to put a tiny waterer in the coop for babies, and it needs to be changed about 45 times a day because of the ducks

its a lot of up and down and extra work to make sure those little ones get water and food.

I don't need this in WINTER!

On the funny side, I went to check the water, there were three ducks in the brooder, and mom hen and baby were at the food, I have a hanging food feeder - thats not hanging, but baby was IN and under it eating food - very cute and I'm happy to see she can get in there.

Two months old - here is the little pretty girl.

Everytime I see her, I suddenly get the urge for a nice sweet creamy cup of coffee
