I have a new Black Jap that just hatched, first and loudest. But....she seems to have no skull over her brain?!
Help!

I didn't see the back of her head in the egg. It pooed on me, lol. It's trying to stand.

I would cull it. It would be picked on, not to mention it would be highly suseptable to disease...and you dont want it infecting healthy chicks. Sorry.

Yea, I can't believe it, no idea if there is any chance of the skull growing over...if it did somewhat, it might have a chance at being an indoor chicken, maybe?

In my opinion cull it. Pecking order would kill or seriously disable it later if it.even makes it that far.

If you want to give it a chance, I would wrap it asap. Wouldn't take much to damage that brain. Poor little thing.

That doesn't happen often. Honestly, you need to cull it. With exposed brain like that, even in the house, there is chance for serious infection. I'm sorry, that's really awful.

I would cull it. Once the others start pecking at it it'll be a slow death for it.
