So how is the baby? I assume, you cleaned out the bator s best you could and the hatch goes on.
Did you put the baby back in the bator or in the brooder?

I had a baby once get wet and tromped on while I was still hatching. I rinsed it off with warm water, blotted it dry with a soft wash cloth and put it back in the bator to dry fast, overnight. She is one of my M. Gold breeders now, My Delima.

You don't want to be opening the bator to often to tend him. He'll should be fine till morning.

Does the incubator smell? If it does, as soon as he is walking pretty good and dry, then I would move him to the brooder.

Keep the humidity up by adding a wet toweling, sponge or something. But if there is stinky in there, move him out as soon as soon as he is ready, don't wait till morning. Once he is dry and walking. Just in case.

Or are you nauseaous just from dealing with the stinky. I could be misunderstanding you. In which case he is better off there, a confined place to learn to walk.

Ok , quail is still alive, two others hatched this morning, no other pips. Amazing anything survived that sellers rotting egg shipment. I'll try to get pics later. I'm done with eBay, that was gross and frustration is not worth questionable "savings".
On the bright side, got 5 eggs out of my quail today ---guaranteed fresh

OH I bet! That is disgusting! I would seriously file a dispute on ebay and get some money back. That is ridiculous!
