OMG! WHATS WRONG?!

Most of the more serous if not most common poultry diseases are viral infections and no antibiotic will treat little less cure a viral infection. I have posted how to proceed with viral infections before but most of the chicken keepers here seem to love the viruses that are killing their chickens better than they love their chickens, so I won't advise you to cull Blossom.

Are you sure she isn't egg bound? Feel her abdomen, is it unusually hard, squishy, and/or swollen? If you can't figure out if it's unusual or not, feel your other hens' abdomens too.

Our chickens acted like this, and a few died too. They heal, but if they get mites (or other types of bugs, but they've never got those so I don't know) then they would get congested. When we treated for mites, they seemed to get better. I don't know what you are dealing with, but that is what I dealt with.

Can you get your hands on her to look for an injury? Flystrike can make them gradually worse and then drop for seemingly no reason if there's no visible injury.

How's her appetite been? Any sneezing or coughing? Rales when breathing? Weight loss? What's her poops like? Lethargy or still foraging until today?

When I had one like this and was out of ideas, and she was on her deathbed, I shot her with Tylan and hoped for the best. Bird healed up overnight and got another 4 days of Tylan but tbh has never been the same. She's nearing cull status for me. I can't keep weight on her and she doesn't lay anymore, was about the same age when it happened. I swear fermenting the feed is what really kept her alive but I think the Tylan probably killed off some part of something that was getting her too.

She died. :hit. The others where protecting her body and watching as I buried her next to the coop, outside the run. There was yellow fluid dripping from her mouth(when she was dead), is that normal?

I just made a connection- she ate a mouse before all this started…could it have had some sort of disease that made her sick? The other chickens had prices as well but they don’t have any of her symptoms

a neighbor could have been poisoning the mice. in which case if she had a large amount or the guts part she could have gotten a higher dose than any of your other girls. :/
