Yes I would be worried about what they may do. Given the reaction they have shown.
People are strange. They will do anything to not be in the wrong regardless of the circumstances.

In their hurt and sadness they are not thinking, just feeling and acting out. That is what makes me say to be wary of what they may do.

Peoples minds get twisted in things like this. You are a very sane sensible person .. I give you kudos!

I just want to say 'Welcome' and that you're the kind of kid that I wish MY kids could hang out with. I think my youngest (12 yo - oops, 13 as of last Fri) DD would love to have as a friend. You seem to be a sweet, loving, brave individual. My DD is that way, too., but she's a little shy at times. I wish you lived closer - any chance of moving to Texas?
