I'm still confused with the stones. That's going to be a pain to clean. If poop, food, water gets in between them, how will you clean that? Take them all out?

Ok that’s a good point! Right I’ve decided! High rise it is! I know it will be a good investment! Thank you for all your honest advice

A covered run is best, and in snow country, it needs to be strong enough for the snow load.
Any netting is better than nothing, to keep raptors out.

Doesn’t have to be on the stoney part; will keep it on the slabs in that case but let them free range
