On oprah right now , how our meat is raised

Thank you for telling us.....Oprah is not on here for another 2 hours so I can still catch it at work.

Side Note...I work in a sports bar and it is sooooo funny when I turn something like Oprah on. If they give me a bad time about it I just say...."Ya...and who controls your alcohol. Do we need to be cut off. Are you being unruly" or I threaten to put soap operas on...that shushes them up.

Yup , they are showing both sides , including the opinions of the big farmers. I don't watch oprah often but saw the advertisement for it and thought heyyyy gotta watch this. It was informative.

I only got to see the latter half, but going to see if I can watch the first half on-line.

Perfect timing, get me all psyched up for the processing seminar this weekend!

I hope prop. 2 passes. Its pretty sick how they keep 6 hens in one tiny cage. The poor chickens are covered in feces, and cant even spread their wings. Veal, I believe is just cruel, and will never eat, but I dont think that they are treated any better than the chickens. Those poor baby cows! The one lady and her husband who had free raised veal cows did a great job, and they looked so much better than the caged cows. Im hoping it passes!

I don't know. I can normally find shows on-line, but all I can find for that is the preview. Poo! I missed the entire chicken part.

thanks for posting this...thank goodness for time shifting i am catching it being broadcast in another time zone

Yeah Asher, I agree. They're showing some smart farmers who are representing themselves well. I thought it would be a bunch of hoity toity's really bashing our farmers which is the LAST thing they need right now after dealing with a tough economy and high feed prices. It's sad to see animals in a situation like that, but unfortunately we don't not live in a perfect place where we can sustain ourselves on broccoli and flowers...some may argue this:)

We must eat and these animals are our food. They need to be treated with dignity and respect like all living creatures but their ultimate service is for the consumption of man. And if they passed this law we would be shutting down our local farms and would be consuming foreign food which would make these farms you witnessed today look like a day spa.
